Ferritic Steels

Steel containing up to 0.41% nitrogen is achieved, leading to higher hardness and strength and higher corrosion resistance.

The limited solubility of nitrogen would be increased by the pressure electroslag refining process, in which melting is carried out under nitrogen pressure.
